Rugby League - Doncaster in Army"s firing line

The Army, who gained a golden-point win in extra time over the British Police in Sunday’s second-round tie, have never been beyond the third-round stage but their hopes were boosted when they received home advantage in the draw.

The University of Gloucestershire All Golds, who played Super League club Salford in last year’s competition, hosted the draw in Cheltenham but were out of luck after being handed a trip to Kingstone Press Championship club Rochdale.

York and Hunslet, who were both relegated to Championship One at the end of last season, will host Whitehaven and Oxford respectively in two of four all-Championship ties.

Featherstone, who last won the Cup at Wembley in 1983, and London Skolars received byes straight through to the fourth round, when the 14 Super League clubs enter the competition.

They were picked out at random from a pre-draw made necessary following the withdrawal of the French Federation clubs.

The third-round ties, to be played on the weekend of March 15-16, are:

Milford v Barrow, Rochdale v Gloucestershire All Golds, Keighley v Wath Brow, Dewsbury v West Hull, Sheffield Eagles v East Leeds, British Army v Doncaster, Hull Dockers v Halifax, Batley v Kells, South Wales Scorpions v Hemel, Normanton v Workington, York v Whitehaven, Swinton v Gateshead, Egremont v Oldham, Hunslet v Oxford, North Wales Crusaders v Pilkington Recs, Wigan St Patrick’s v Leigh.
