Bruce Craig and Nick Blofeld will take on new roles following a shake-up of Bath Rugby’s senior management structure.

Craig, who took ownership of Bath in 2010, will assume a more hands-on position in the business when he becomes executive chairman on September 1.

Blofeld, meanwhile, will leave the Bath Rugby chief executive role he has held since 2009. He steps into a wider group role, with responsibility for key projects that include the proposed redevelopment of The Rec and ongoing work at Bath’s Farleigh House headquarters.

Finance and strategy director Tarquin McDonald takes over the day-to-day running of the non-rugby side of the business.

Craig said: “I am very proud of the progress made by Bath Rugby under Nick’s direction over the last five years and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank him for all he has done for the club to date.

“I am delighted that, in his new role, he will continue to focus on a number of key projects, including the potential Rec redevelopment, the on-going development of Farleigh House and support for the Bath Rugby Foundation.

“I am very much looking forward to next season and I am confident that we will see all our hard work bear further fruit in the seasons ahead.”

Blofeld said: “I have been privileged to lead a great club over these last few years and to set it in the right direction for long-term success.

“I’m now looking forward to concentrating even more on trying to keep Bath Rugby at The Rec, as well as a few other key projects, and to being able to watch the team’s successes next year and beyond.”

Rugby matters will remain under the management of head coach Mike Ford and performance director David Thompson.
