Try out rugby with Tresham College and have your photo with the Aviva ...

And as well as honing their skills with coaches from the Saints community team, attendees will also have the opportunity to have their photo taken with the Aviva Premiership and Amlin Challenge Cup trophies that the club’s first team won so spectacularly in May.

Tresham College has chosen Northampton Saints as the partner for a brand new Rugby Academy, giving young players aged between 16 and 18 the chance to mix being a full-time rugby player and a student.

Led by Elite Player Development Group manager Ross Stewart, Northampton Saints coaches and support staff will deliver sessions across a wide range of specialist areas, including analysis, nutrition, sports psychology, and strength and conditioning.

There will also be in-depth coaching sessions to help members of the Rugby Academy develop their game, and physiotherapy specialists on hand to keep the players at their physical peak.

Members of the Rugby Academy will also receive all the advice they need if they wish to seek a career as a professional player and will have the opportunity to compete at college level.

The new Rugby Academy will be based at Tresham College’s Kettering Campus, with members studying for a BTEC Level 2 or 3 in sport alongside their coaching and playing commitments as part of a balanced and tailored timetable.

For more information about the introductory session and about Tresham’s new Rugby Academy programme email Jon Heathcote – jheathcote@tresham.ac.uk – or Ross Stewart – rossstewart@northamptonsaints.co.uk
