Lawrence Dallaglio stops over in Bicester as part of his marathon charity bike ride
Former England rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio was at Bicester Hotel and Golf Club on Monday aspart of a marathon charity ride.
The ex-Wasps No 8 was joined by ex-England teammates Martin Johnson, Martin Corry and Austin Healy and former Wham singer Andrew Ridgley, as part of the Dallaglio Cycle Slam.
The challenge, which involved 300 riders, started from the Alps in northern Italy on June 1 and finished at Twickenham on Tuesday, covering a distance of 2,500 kilometres.
Bicester was chosen for a stop-off point as it is the right distance from Twickenham for the last stage of the challenge.
The ride is on target to raise well in excess of £600, 000 which will go towards the Teenage Cancer Trust and Dallaglio’s Rugby for Change programme.
This uses rugby as a way of engaging disadvantaged young people to help ensure practical and long-standing improvements in their lives.
