Scotland"s brave hearts are shattered by New Zealand

But his Bravehearts can hold their heads high in defeat after playing with terrific daring.

The massive underdogs, including five part-time players, refused to be overawed and created a few half-chances. They even got the biggest cheer of the night at Headingley when winger Alex Hurst touched down in the 65th minute.

But the Kiwis – a whopping 200-1 on to win – were always too good thanks to a combination of power, speed and skill.

Winger Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and centre Bryson Goodwin scored twice, with Sonny Bill Williams setting up two.

It was the Kiwis’ fourth easy win and England’s big hope now is that they are undercooked ahead of next Saturday’s expected semi-final.
