Life-saving equipment donation

LOUGHBOROUGH College was the grateful recipient of a defibrillator presented by the England rugby team.

BOC Healthcare supplied defibrillators to each of the 14 World Cup teams – and England chose to donate theirs to the college.

Leroy

Cudjoe, Tom Briscoe and James Roby joined the college’s head of sport, Helen Van Aardt, and Harry Pilling from BOC ahead of their Rugby League World Cup semi-final clash at Wembley.

They

were joined by college students, including Rheanne Bailey from Leicester Riders and Great Britain basketball player Jamell Anderson, Volleyball England Academy players Matt White, George Wainwright, Richard James and Rob Bellamy, GB Swimming’s Elena Sheridan and players from the RFL Academy.

Helen Van Aardt said: “We are very grateful for their donation of this defibrillator. It will offer reassurance to the young athletes here at Loughborough College’s Elite Athlete Performance Centre and to all students and staff.”
