Win chance to play cricket against Gloucester Rugby heroes this weekend

ONE lucky cricket side can field their team against rugby heroes on Sunday.

The Citizen is offering a team of six people the opportunity to play cricket against Gloucester player-coach Mike Tindall, Leicester’s Anthony Allen and Ryan Lamb and ex-Gloucester stars Chris Fortey and Henry Paul.

They are all putting in teams for the Rugby for Heroes 2013 Cricket Challenge Cup on Sunday at Gloucester City Winget Club.

There will be a fun day held at the same time with stalls, a barbecue, bar and games. All money raised on the day will go towards the Rugby for Heroes charity.

One lucky team can play a celebrity-filled side by emailing The Citizen and telling us in 100 words or less why you should take part by noon on Wednesday. Teams can be mixed but players should be over 18.

The competition is free to enter and there is also no charge to attend the fun day.

The day is sponsored by Gloucester City Plumbing Supplies.

Branch manager Scott Hurcombe said: “Gloucester City Plumbing Supplies are proud to sponsor this event and what it aims to achieve.

“We carry out our own charity work and appreciate the time and effort that has to be put in to make these events a success. We have designed a fun stall for the day that will help to raise a little extra cash that all are welcome to come and try.”
