Scott Williams has opened up on the frustration of being a player caught up in the ongoing dispute between the WRU and the regions.
The Scarlets centre is one of six out-of-contract Wales stars – along with Sam Warburton, Alun Wyn Jones, Leigh Halfpenny, Adam Jones and Rhys Priestland – who have found themselves embroiled in the civil war.
All six are understood to have been offered contracts by both their regions and the Union amid the escalating crisis, while they are also targets for big-spending French and English clubs.
With so much uncertainty over the structure of professional rugby in Wales and Europe, they have been faced with very difficult decisions.
Williams summed up the feelings of the in-demand six by saying he just wished the Welsh warring factions could reach a settlement so the players could sort out their futures.
He says he would ideally like to stay with the Scarlets, who have confirmed they have made firm offers to both him and outside-half Priestland.
The regionâs coach Simon Easterby admits he has sympathy for all the players, who find themselves âin limboâ, to use his words, and Williams admits it is a difficult period.

âIt is a frustrating time for us players with everything thatâs going on,â said the 23-year-old.
âNobody is really sure whatâs happening.
âI am just keeping talking to the Scarlets, keeping close to them, that is where we are at the moment.
âThe ideal scenario would be for the WRU and regions to sort something out and for me to stay.â
The 23-times capped Williams acknowledged it was difficult to be moving into the new year with his future still unresolved.
âOf course, you donât want to be going into the later part of the season where you still have not signed anywhere and you are not sure where you are going to be the next season,â he said.
âSo, the earlier it is sorted the better so you can put your mind to rest.
âObviously you have to try and keep up with everything that is happening. There is probably a lot going on behind the seasons.
âAs I said, it is a bit frustrating at the moment. Fingers crossed, something gets resolved.â
