Bath Rugby winger Semesa Rokoduguni back in contention for England Saxons ...

Bath Rugby winger Semesa Rokoduguni is back in contention to make his England Saxons debut after being included in the squad to face Scotland A in Glasgow on Friday.

The Fijian-born flyer was called up to the squad for last week’s match against Ireland Wolfhounds but missed on selection after reporting to training with knee soreness. He had only just returned to action following a two- month lay-off with a knee injury.

Rokoduguni qualifies for England via residency, having served as a tank soldier with the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards since 2007.

The 27-year-old only joined Bath in October 2012 following a successful trial but has quickly developed into a strong, pacy attacking threat. His inclusion in the Saxons squad made him the first serving soldier to be called up by England since Tim Rodber and Josh Lewsey.

Bath prop Nathan Catt is also included in the squad to play at Scotstoun, but full-back Anthony Watson has rejoined the England senior squad at Pennyhill Park after playing against Wolfhounds.

Leicester Tigers wing Adam Thompstone, Gloucester scrum-half Dan Robson and Newcastle Falcons prop Kieran Brookes have joined the Saxons squad training at Loughborough University.

Robson takes over from Dave Lewis (Exeter Chiefs), while Northampton Saints prop Tom Mercey (knee), Exeter Chiefs centre Sam Hill (hamstring) and Harlequins centre Matt Hopper (rib) are all injured.

A further addition to the backs available to Saxons head coach Jon Callard will be made in due course.
