Rugby League: Tony Clubb delighted to be at Wigan

“coming to Wigan is a dream move and I’m still having to pinch myself a little bit”

Tony Clubb

“But coming to Wigan is a dream move and I’m still having to pinch myself a little bit. It’s a bit surreal.”

Wigan won the Challenge Cup and Grand Final last year, whereas Clubb’s trophy cabinet is completely empty.

He said: “It’s a bit sh*t to think I’ve never won anything and most of the Wigan lads won two trophies in one year.”

Clubb, 26, could win his first medal as early as next month, when Wigan play Sydney Roosters in the World Club Challenge.

And, despite his fall-out with the Broncos, Clubb added: “I’m glad they survived. I will always have a soft spot for them.”

Meanwhile, former Salford forward Jordan James has delayed his retirement after Wigan offered him a one-year deal.
