Former Ireland and Munster out-half Ronan O’Gara has revealed he one day like to become Ireland’s head rugby coach.
Ronan was speaking on the John Murray Show in anticipation of an RTE documentary about his career.Â
He said: ” I think I want to be challenged and that is the greatest challenge (The Ireland rugby coach).
“I admire all the international coaches but I’m way off that obviously at the minute.
“I’m a million miles off that at the moment.
“It’s small building blocks at the minute.”    Â
He says in the documentary: âI wish I could have a laugh, I wish I could be smiling all the time, I wish I could enjoy it more, but I didnât, thatâs the honest answer.
âYou question everything, you go for walks, you canât sleep, youâre puking.”
âIâve never been hurt like it before. I realised it was a serious threat and the jersey could be gone.
Ronan O’Gara won two Heineken Cups, three Celtic Leagues, a Celtic Cup, a Six Nations Grand Slam and four Triple Crowns in a glittering career for Munster and Ireland.
The documentary traces OâGaraâs life right back to his beginnings in Cork, his career with Munster and Ireland right up to Ronan barking instructions in French on the Racing training pitch.
Looking forward to watching the Ronan O’Gara documentary tonight, the man was a legend for Irish/Munster rugby @RTErugby @RonanOGara10
