Dickinson is the real deal for Edinburgh rugby

ALASDAIR DICKINSON has extended his contract with Edinburgh Rugby until 2016.

The 30-times capped Scotland internationalist had rejoined the club on a one-year deal in May, having left for the English Premiership in 2007 to enjoy spells at Gloucester and Sale Sharks.

He said today: “I’m delighted to extend my time here at Edinburgh Rugby. It’s my home club.”

Dickinson returns from last week’s rotated rest break to start tomorrow’s deciding leg of the 1872 Cup derby against Glasgow at Scotstoun (kick-off 6.05pm) with Wicus Blaauw moving to the replacements’ bench.

Edinburgh are seeking to reverse the 20-16 Boxing Day defeat at Murrayfield, with a five-point win needed to secure the aggregate advantage required to take the silverware back along the M8.
