Acid test for Ballynahinch in All Ireland League season opener

Ballynahinch face a baptism of fire as they embark on their first season in the top-flight of the All Ireland League.



Hinch were crowned Division 1B champions last season – winning 16 out of 18 games – scoring 623 points.


They start life in Division 1A against four times AIL champions Cork Con at Ballymacarn Park before a trip to Tom Clifford Park to face Young Munster.


Last season’s champions Lansdowne visit Hinch on the November 2 with Derek Suffern’s side travelling to Dublin for the reverse fixture on March 15.


There is a big Ulster derby on the opening day in Division 1B as Malone and Dungannon clash at Gibson Park.


Belfast Harlequins start at Deramore against Buccaneers .


Malone will host Quins on November 8 and the reverse fixture at Deramore will also be under floodlights on March 14.


Ballymena begin their quest to bounce back to Division 1B after last season’s relegation against Galwegians at Eaton Park.


Promoted Rainey face a tough opening as they travel to Ulster rivals City of Derry for a derby clash at Judge’s Road.


Queen’s host Highfield at the Dub while Banbridge make the trip to Tipperary to face Cashel.


The students travel to Rifle Park on the second weekend of the season hoping to avenge last year’s defeat by Dan Soper’s side.


In Division 2B Ards with their new coaching set-up start at home to Suttonians, Armagh entertain DLSP while Instonians travel to Skerries.


The first Ulster derby in the division sees Ards travel to Inst on November 23.
