AS one of the hosts of the Rugby League World Cup tournament, Trafford Council will be offering fans a final opportunity to win free tickets to the Rugby League World Cup Final by hiding two specially branded balls at mystery locations in Trafford, on August 22.
The council has teamed up with the competitionâs organisers and other partners to hide two specially branded balls at secret locations across Trafford.
Those who find them will win tickets to the RLWC2013 final set to take place later this year in November.
The tournament kicks off on October 26 at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, with the Rugby League World Cup final set to take place at Old Trafford on November 30.
Using the councilâs Facebook and Twitter sites, hints and clues will be given to fans on August 22 as to where they can find the winning balls.
Players and members of the Rugby League family and celebrities have been hiding 100 special RLWC2013 balls across the country since 18 July and this will be the final opportunity for fans to win tickets.
Cllr Jonathan Coupe, executive councillor for safe and strong communities, said: âWeâre thrilled to be hosts of the Rugby League World Cup Final. Alongside the Ashes, the tournament is set to be one of the biggest sporting events in the UK this year. We want everyone to get behind the event and show their support for what promises to be a really exciting international sporting event right here on our doorstep.â
To mark the occasion, the council has enlisted the help of Salford City Reds Team Manager, Brian Noble, players, Adam Neil and Lee Jewitt, and other partners to help hide the specially branded balls.
Fans will be able to identify the specially branded balls by their distinctive orange colour. The balls will have a sticker with instructions on how to claim the free tickets.
The council is asking fans who find the balls to tweet a photo of themself with the ball and use the hashtags #findourballs and #RWLC2013, to let everyone know it has been found.
So keep a look out for clues on Twitter and Facebook on August 22 to #findourballs and be in with a chance to win tickets to a local RWLC2013 match.
