Rugby league player dies after Ibiza Rocks Hotel fall

A former rugby league player has died after falling from a balcony in Ibiza.

Luke Rhoden, 25, fell at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel in San Antonio on Tuesday night, the site confirmed.

Emergency services tended to Mr Rhoden at the scene, but he later died. Police on the island are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

Mr Rhoden played for Wigan Warriors academy in 2007 and 2008 before playing semi-professionally at Oldham Roughyeds.

Kris Radlinski, rugby general manager at Wigan Warriors, said: “We’re devastated to hear of Luke’s passing. He was a good player who always gave 100% whenever he took to the field.”

Ibiza Rocks said it was continuing to assist Spanish police with their investigation.
