Rugby Union: Tom Wood relishes skipper"s role

The Northampton star reckons he would enjoy the pressure of being his country’s leader on the rugby field.


Wood is now favourite to take over the helm this autumn for the clashes with Australia, Argentina and New Zealand.


Head coach Stuart Lancaster with the way Wood, 26, led the team in Chris Robshaw’s absence on the successful summer tour to South America. He has also started the season in impressive form while Robshaw who has struggled to make an impact. With ­Harlequins losing three of their opening four matches – is under pressure to keep his place in the starting fifteen.
