Rugby Union: Stuart Lancaster to give players the Fergie treatment

The head coach is ­demanding a perfect three out of three wins from England as they prepare to kick-off their November campaign against Australia.


Argentina and world champions New Zealand lie in wait after the Wallabies’ visit to Twickenham on Saturday – and Cumbrian Lancaster will not settle for anything but total commitment, effort and performance.


He said: “I’ve never yet used the hairdryer on the team but I have had my moments and I would not be afraid to do so.


“There have been times I’ve certainly given them an old-school rev-up.


“I am the head coach and sometimes, as a leader, it is required.
