Warrington forward Ben Westwood could miss England’s opening World Cup game against Australia after being charged by the RFL with a punching offence.
Westwood appeared to catch Wigan’s Blake Green in
but it was missed by the referee.
The Grade B charge could result in a two-game ban, meaning he would miss the Italy friendly on 19 October and the opener against Australia on 26 October.
The 32-year-old will have his hearing on 8 October.
