Rugby League: Critics fire up Matty Smith

“That’s expected at a club like Wigan because people expect the best all the time. But in the big games, we’ve stood up and been counted. That’s all that matters. ”

Smith admitted the brickbats thrown his side’s way riled them.

He added: “You know how good the team is , so it is annoying. But we are proving all the critics wrong.”

Smith, who will be making his second Grand Final appearance, having played against Wigan for St Helens in 2010, said: “Warrington are a top side. It’s going to be a great final.”
