Wales 51 - Scotland 3: Welsh end on high note

“We’ve worked really hard to get back up to where we have been. We trained very hard this week and I think it showed.

“There are still bits to work on but after last week it’s a great performance and a lot better.”

Further tries from Liam Williams, Taulupe Faletau and Rhodri Williams heaped misery on Scotland, who had looked fairly solid until Hogg’s brutal 23rd-minute challenge.

Wing North was pleased with his and the team’s efforts.

“I’m happy with that,” he said. “All the boys played exceptionally well. When the game’s open like that, that’s the way we like to play.

“It doesn’t make up for losing at Twickenham but we wanted to do well in the final game. I am happy with the two tries.”

The day’s big disappointment for Wales was the loss of captain Sam Warburton with a suspected dislocated right shoulder which is set to end the flanker’s season.
