Guilty plea over Halifax rugby union player death

A 25-year-old man has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of a Halifax rugby union player.


Andrew Feather, 38, died after being punched at the Liquid nightclub in Commercial Street, Halifax, in the early hours of 9 February.


He had been celebrating a match victory with teammates at the nightclub.


Dale McLean, from Huddersfield, entered a guilty plea at Bradford Crown Court. He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on 30 April.


Mr Feather had been a member of the club for more than 10 years and had also served as club secretary.
