JAKE Anderson scored two tries as Banbury beat Witney 36-6 in the Oxfordshire Under 16 League.

Witney led 6-0 thanks to a brace of Archie Fellows penalties.

CHINNOR will host Devon side Crediton in the National Under 17 Bowl’s South West semi-finals on Sunday.

HEAD of rugby Andy Goldsmith is backing Bloxham School to impress at the 75th anniversary of the Rosslyn Park HSBC National Schools Sevens next week.

Bloxham are entering three teams into the tournament, which starts on Monday.

“We had quite a successful XVs season, the under 13 team went unbeaten apart from the last game in the knockout cup,” he said.

“The under 16s lost just one match all season too while the under 18s only lost four. We’re hoping we can translate that into a good showing at the Rosslyn Park Sevens tournament.

“Rosslyn Park is the No 1 tournament, anyone who is anyone goes there. It’s great for the youngsters to experience that type of tournament.

“There are some very tough groups but whatever happens, I am confident we will give a good account of ourselves.”

HSBC is proud to sponsor the world’s largest schools rugby tournament. All HSBC’s rugby sponsorships aim to help develop and grow the sport and ensure even more youngsters get involved with rugby. For more information visit www.rpns7.co.uk
