Salford slain by Huddersfield giants

“It eased them to a 28-0 half-time lead, with Salford’s only chance coming when Jordan Walne was held up over the line”

But they steadied the ship and didn’t leak another try until the 28th minute when David Faiumu ran through some poor defence.

It was his first try for five months and only the second of the season for the substitute hooker.

Giants clearly sensed that this was an opportunity to boost their try tally and Joe Wardle was the next to touch down.

It eased them to a 28-0 half-time lead, with Salford’s only chance coming when Jordan Walne was held up over the line.

Winger David Williams wasted another chance early in the second half when he dropped an Ashley Gibson pass with the line begging.

They finally got on the scoresheet in the 55th minute when winger Niall Evalds raced on to a Marc Sneyd grubber kick.

But by that time Huddersfield had run in another try with a beauty by Brough after he shimmied past Lee Gaskell.

As the Reds tired, Huddersfield turned the screw with loose forward James Cording touching down twice

The only disappointment for the League leaders was another poor crowd, with just 5,345 watching.
