Gloucester number eight Ben Morgan believes that England’s summer victories over Argentina will boost the squad.
The England squad picked up a first Test series win away from home against the Pumas in 32 years, despite missing key players who had been called up to represent the British Irish Lions in their tour of Australia.
Morgan believes that the triumph will inject confidence into the young players who were handed opportunities with Marland Yarde, Christian Wade, Kyle Eastmond, Matt Kvesic and Billy Vunipola all making a lasting impression on the coach.
Stuart Lancaster rewarded all of the young players by promoting them to the elite squad earlier this month as he looks to utilise his strength in depth, two years out from World Cup in 2015.
Morgan said: “That sort of tour is just a great opportunity for new people to come in and prove what they can offer.
“And I think everyone did that. You could see it in the way we played.
“Everyone stepped up and really impressed, and that reward has been achieved by being named in the elite squad.”
