Fire breaks out at Maesteg rugby club




Fire at Maesteg rugby club


Fire crews are tackling a major blaze at a rugby club in the south Wales valleys.


The first floor of the Maesteg RFC clubhouse and part of the stand are well alight, according to the fire service.


South Wales Fire and Rescue said the blaze started just after 17:00 BST.


Eyewitness Jonny Phillips said on Twitter: “Sad to hear that Maesteg RFC is in flames. Historic and wonderful Welsh rugby club.”
