âTobyâs leaving us at the end of the season, he told me on Friday. I suspect heâll be going to France and we wish him the best of luck,â said Cockerill.
âWe put our best offer forward but I donât think itâs a monetary thing. He wants to do something different and sees his chances with England being limited.
âThereâs a lot of rugby to go yet, heâs our captain and will be playing until the end of the season if his form dictates that.
âWeâve lost some very big names from this club in the last 20 years but have been OK.
âToby will go but weâll cope with it. Nobody is bigger than the club.
âYouâd like to think Leicester is an attractive place to come to. We are looking at several options and Iâm sure weâll find someone to do the job for us.â
Despite leaking six tries, Cockerill viewed the 40th-minute sin-binning of Graham Kitchener for a spear-tackle on Farrell when Leicester trailed only 13-10 as pivotal.
âI donât know why he was in the bin. Heâs committed to the tackle, he hits the guy and he lands on his back,â said Cockerill.
Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall said: âOwen will go through the normal protocols while, overall, every area of our game was very good.
