James Short scoring a try for Blues

Bedford Blues have lost the services of dual registered Saracens winger James Short as he has been sent on loan to London Wasps until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old will provide injury cover for the Premiership side with Sarries keen on him playing at as high a level as possible.

“James is an extremely talented winger with a bright future in the game, but it is important that he keeps getting game time at the highest level,” Saracens Director of Rugby Mark McCall said.

“This arrangement with Wasps is a win-win.”

Wasps Director of Rugby Dai Young added: “We’ve been very unlucky with injuries to key players in our back-line.

“James is a very experienced Premiership player and adding him to our wing options means a few of our versatile backs could provide backup in others areas as well, so we’re very pleased to bring him in for the rest of the season.”

Short bagged a try double for Blues in their recent BI Cup win over Connacht Eagles.
