The Brumbies will be out for revenge on Saturday when they travel to Perth to face the Western Force as the last time the team’s met the Perth side won.

Brumbies winger Henry Speight said earlier in the week that the Force’s final round victory over the Brumbies last year had a negative effect on the team on their way to the final and that the loss is still fresh in their minds.

Having lost to the Reds at home last week will only made the Canberra side angrier and more desperate to win this week.

The Force have played the Brumbies 11 times since 2006 when the West Australian side joined Super Rugby in the Super14.

From those 11 Super Rugby matches the Force have beaten the Brumbies 4 times and they have drawn once. That means that the Brumbies have won six of the eleven matches.

That record gives the Force a record of winning 36% of their matches against the Brumbies. The average score when the Force play the Brumbies across all venues is Force 18 Brumbies 21.

This week the match will be played in Perth at the nib Stadium which they have playfully renamed the “Force Field”. The two teams have met 6 times in Perth and the Force have won just two of their home matches against the Brumbies.

Those two home victories for the Western Force mean that they have a record of winning just 33% of their home matches against the Brumbies.

The one and only draw between the teams was also in Perth so it could be said that the Force have not lost 50% of their home matches to the Brumbies.

In terms of selection the Brumbies have named Robbie Coleman as one of two changes for this match. Joe Tomane has been ruled out through an ankle injury which brings Coleman on to the wing.

In the other change Wallabies outside centre Tevita Kuridrani takes back the starting spot in jersey No. 13 with Andrew Smith moving to the bench.

The Western Force have retained the backline that played in their loss to the Waratahs last week but made changes to their forward pack as flanker Chris Alcock and lock Hugh McMeniman returning to the starting line up.

Last week the Force were outscored six tries to two so their defence and their attack will need to take a big step up this week. Their discipline also let them down at times.
