Adam Jones contemplates Dragons move

Adam Jones is reportedly considering a move to the Dragons ahead of next season.

His contract is up at the end of the current campaign and despite overtures from France, Jones confirmed last week he will stay in Wales. With a central contract on the table from the Welsh Rugby Union, Jones may opt to re-sign with the governing body or pursue a regional deal in the same way Rhys Priestland, Alun Wyn Jones and Scott Williams did.

Reports in Wales Online say if Jones signs a central contract, when given the chance to pick which region he would like to play for, he is considering opting for the Dragons where he would link up with his former Ospreys coach Lyn Jones.

One complication is the regions’ stance as they previously said they would not pick players centrally contracted to the WRU with just Sam Warburton currently on such a deal.

If Jones is therefore keen to push ahead with a move to the Dragons, the region would have to finance the deal themselves.
