BRISTOL Rugby have bolstered their resources by signing scrum-half Luke Baldwin from Saracens on a two-year deal.
The 23-year-old may be familiar to Bristol supporters after spending two seasons on loan at GKIPA Championship rivals Bedford Blues.
Baldwin made five appearances for Saracens, including one in the Aviva Premiership, but was a regular at Goldington Road, where he earned a reputation as one of the finest No 9s in the Championship.
Bristol director of rugby Andy Robinson said: âLuke is exceptionally quick and dynamic â heâs a constant threat and has shown a high level of consistency in his performances for the Blues.
âI believe he will be perfectly suited to the expansive game that we are trying to play at Bristol.
âLuke will provide added competition to that position and â at the age of 23 â has time to develop and flourish, which Iâm confident he will do here.â
Baldwin was in Bristol yesterday for a routine medical examination at the clubâs training ground â and sealed his switch this morning.
He said: âIâm really excited about the move to Bristol Rugby and my future with the club.
âIâm eager to continue to improve my game and the quality of coaching staff, facilities and players around me at Bristol can only be beneficial.
âIâve been impressed with the vision of the club and the positive steps it is taking â on and off the field â to achieve that goal. Itâs fantastic to be a part of that.â
Baldwinâs arrival means Bristol now have four scrum-halves on their books. He joins Ruki Tipuna, club captain James Grindal and England Under-20s ace Callum Braley.
