Rugby - Chiefs begin cup defence in Wales

The Chiefs, conquerors of final opponents Northampton four months ago, face a Rodney Parade appointment with Newport Gwent Dragons before further games against Bath, Gloucester and Saracens.

Reigning Aviva Premiership champions Northampton start at home against Newcastle on the weekend of October 31-November 2, while newly-promoted London Welsh visit Bath.

Four rounds of group games see teams in pools one and four and those in pools two and three face each other, prior to the semi-finals and the final next March.

Pool One – Saracens, Bath, Gloucester, Newport Gwent Dragons.

Pool Two – Northampton, Sale Sharks, London Irish, Cardiff Blues.

Pool Three – Leicester, Wasps, Newcastle, Scarlets.

Pool Four – Harlequins, Exeter, London Welsh, Ospreys.
