Incoming Bath Rugby ace Sam Burgess has allayed fears over his injured shoulder amid fears he could be set for a lengthy absence.Â
Rugby League superstar Burgess agreed a cross-code deal with Bath back in February and will head to The Rec from South Sydney Rabbitohs after the culmination of the Australian NRL season in September.Â
England international Burgess, 25, suffered a shoulder injury in the Rabbitohsâ 34-18 victory over Canberra Raiders on Monday and there were initial fears that it would end his season prematurely.Â
However, after undergoing scans Burgess revealed via Twitter that he had not suffered any serious damage.
Scan results on my shoulder were positive this morning. No serious damage. Thanks for everyone’s messages and well wishes. Back to business

No timescale has been given on Burgessâ possible absence and the Rabbitohsâ medical staff are hopeful he will be fit for their next match against Newcastle Knights in Cairns on Sunday.
