He said: “I wish Salford all the best but I don’t envy them and I’m not really surprised at how they are doing.

“I always thought they would struggle with gelling so many new players in. There was always going to be disruption.

“It is going to be difficult for them but I am sure they will gel over the next couple of months and years if the players stay long enough.

“Marwan is a great bloke and is good for the game and genuinely trying to do good things for Salford.

“He’s just impatient, he wants success now which is understandable. But it’s difficult to do and will take time.”

He said: “We’ve won nine games from the last 10 which is good. It’s a desire thing and good that we’re finding ways to win.”

“But I’ve finally got the chance to show everyone what I’m capable of and I’m looking forward to finishing the season on a high.”

HULL KR have sacked Aussie Wayne Ulugia just two months into an 18-month contract.
