James King: Will train with Wales ahead of Saturday’s Test against Australia
Wales have called up Ospreys lock James King to train with their squad ahead of Saturday’s Test against Australia.
The Welsh Rugby Union confirmed that the 23-year-old reported for training on Monday.
King, who can also play in the back row, made his Wales debut during their summer tour of Japan.
Wales’ second-row options have been affected by the unavailability of Bradley Davies and Luke Charteris.
Davies suffered a shoulder injury during Wales’ win over Argentina earlier this month and subsequently underwent surgery.
Charteris, meanwhile, has returned to Perpignan, who are not obliged to release him for the Wallabies game as it falls outside the International Rugby Board’s autumn Test window.
Wales have lost their last eight Tests against Australia, although half of those defeats were by three points or less.
Warren Gatland is due to announce his team to face the Wallabies on Thursday.
