Last season, the Sharks appeared to have installed a coaching merry-go-round at the Salford City Stadium.
Bryan Redpath started as boss but was left clinging on by his fingernails as an assistant after John Mitchell was brought on board. Mitchell hopped on and off again in the blink of an eye and Diamond, the former coach and chief executive, stepped in with the club looking set for relegation.
Diamond oversaw a turnaround in Saleâs fortunes and, after being bottom at Christmas, they finished 10th. He said: âWe had a rough season last year, so weâre after a bit of consistency.
âWe donât want to start as we did last year, but to be more like the second half of the season, when we won seven out of 11.
Steve Diamond is hoping to cut it at Sale Sharks
