HAPPY BIRTHDAY: Ysgol Maes Dyfan pupil Shanice Sainty, 12, Nathan Ellis, 17, from Ysgol Erw’r Delyn, and Ashgrove’s Danny Williams, 15, with Dan Biggar and Ryan Jones
WALES rugby stars have helped celebrate a supply teaching agencyâs 10th birthday, at Ashgrove School.
Lions star Ryan Jones and Six Nations standout Dan Biggar were at the Sully Road school to give away signed rugby balls to the pupils and present a signed shirt to Education Staffing Solutions (ESS).
ESS co-founder Kevin Moyes said they had enjoyed a close relationship with Ashgrove School since 2003.
To thank them for their support he donated five iPads to the school on Wednesday September 25, to use at Penarth Learning Community – their new home from 2014.
ESS also coordinated a birthday card design competition with Ryan and Dan presenting prizes to the winners on the day, which included students from Ysgol Maes Dyfan in Barry and Penarth school Ysgol Erw’r Delyn, as well as Ashgrove.
Mr Moyes said: âThank you to Ashgrove School for all their support over the last ten years.
âWe feel very privileged to be part of such an important school.â
Supply teacher Kath McCallum has been registered with ESS since the start and undertook an early teaching stint at Ashgrove.
“I love the flexibility and variety of supply teaching and have returned to the same school several times,” she said.
Ashgrove head Chris Britten said: âThe work ESS does for us is fantastic and we have a great relationship.â
ESS has more than 1,500 teachers on its books. It has offices in Cardiff Bay, Swansea, Carmarthen and Neath Port Talbot.
