Loughborough made it two wins from two in Midlands Two East (North) as they edged to a 19-16 victory at Melton Mowbray.
Thomas Kirkby, Callum Smith and Steve Sands scored tries and Lewis Waters slotted two conversions.
Oakham got off the mark with a 40-7 win against Dronfield, Owen Smith (2), Tom Armstrong, Mark Matthews, Matt Dalton with their tries. Matthews kicked three penalties and three conversions.
Belgrave suffered heartache at Spalding. They lost 21-20 to the last play of the game despite tries from Jamie Crumbie and Warren Blankley, and 10 points from the boot of Kevin Curtis.

Lutterworth maintained their 100 per cent start in the South section with a 27-7 success at Olney and there was a 32-18 win for Market Harborough at Oadby Wyggs.
Oadby’s tries were scored by Elliot Keable and Byron Measures, who also kicked a conversion and two penalties on his 100th first team appearance. Leicester Forest lost 33-5 at Dunstablians.
Market Bosworth suffered a 28-25 home defeat to Old Laurentians in the Midlands One West Division.
Old Laurentians kicked the winning penalty with two minutes to go. For Bosworth, Sam Harding and Chris Moore scored tries, while Llewelyn Williams kicked five penalties.
With a good mixture of youth and experience, an excellent coaching team and a strong mini section, things look promising for Ashby in Midlands Three East (North).
A good opening day win was followed by another maximum-points victory, this one coming courtesy of a 58-10 verdict against Aylestone St James.
Chris Lineham had a 23-point haul through two tries, five conversions and a penalty. Dan Livesey (2), Paul Collier (2), Eddie Smith, Luke Beasley and Will Beesley also crossed.
Vipers had an excellent 29-8 win against Queens in the South division courtesy of tries from James Bateman (2), Carl Gibson, Tom Elderton and Chris Sankey. Ollie Ingram kicked two conversions.
In Midlands Four East (South) Aylestone Athletic lost 71-0 at home to Bedford Swifts, while Old Newts triumphed 29-7 at Westwood.
Adam Coates rolled back the years by scoring two tries, and further scores came from Alex Lynds, Jamie Muggleton and Jez Wood. Muggleton added two conversions, and to cap a good weekend for the club, the second team beat Melton 81-15 and the ladies beat Chesterfield Panthers 62-5.
Sileby’s first game in Midlands Five East (North) resulted in a superb 69-0 victory against Creswell Crusaders.
Ben Walters, Tom Radley, Kurt Mason and Olly Baker each scored twice, while Gareth Love, Jim Crigs and Jan Ruddick also crossed. Ruddick added seven conversions.
