Marland Yarde tipped for England

Yarde, 21, dazzled on his England debut this summer in the second Test against Argentina, scorching the Pumas for two tries.

Smith, the London Irish director of rugby and former England attack coach, said: “Will Marland break through and be a starter for England this season? He’s capable of it. He put his best foot forward in Argentina and the England coaches are happy.

“He’ll be a prolific talent if he keeps his feet on the ground and keeps working hard. If he keeps putting in the performances week-in, week-out for London Irish, he can win 50 caps for England.”

Yarde will have plenty of competition for a wing place with Christian Wade, David Strettle, Chris Ashton and Mike Brown also in Stuart Lancaster’s squad for the autumn Tests.
