England rugby star to reveal secret to BTL empire

Friday 20th September 2013

An England Rugby World Cup winner has announced that since establishing a multi-million buy-to-let portfolio, he will present at a free property school to advise those looking to invest in the market.

Former England hooker Mark Regan, 41, will present at a free property school run by property investment company Midas Estates Regan, a firm Regan is a co-director in.

Since retiring in 2009, he became involved in the property market and now has more than 22 properties, worth an estimated £2 million.

Also speaking at the session, which takes place on Tuesday, September 24, alongside the former rugby star, are directors Ian Clark and Robin Campbell.

Ian, who set up Midas Estates, said: “Investment in property is steadily becoming more popular with many taking advantage of current low interest rates for mortgages.

“However, there are many pitfalls to property investment and if not organised properly it can become a stressful and expensive experience.”

Regan (MBE), 41, said in an interview: “I was playing rugby and wanted to invest in some properties and I was very sceptical at first. I was one of those people that made the mistake of buying in the wrong area, then got to know Ian but was still weary. But over time it just became apparent that Midas Estates knew exactly what they were on about and that was only the way forward for me being an ex-professional sportsman.

“It’s all under one roof, I don’t have to go looking for a mortgage or for any financial advice. Midas Estates has held my hand all the way, and will advise me on more properties as and when they arise. There’s professional players up and down the country and we’ve invested some money of theirs and there’s never been a backward step by them. They’d always go to Midas Estates as and when their funds become available.

“Midas Estates is free and if you do invest, we don’t try to push sales we just advise you and when things arise Midas Estates are there to help you and hold your hand all of the way. It’s a fantastic concept and something which I thoroughly believe in.”

Midas Estates was formed in 2003 and its mission statement is: “To help as many people as possible find financial freedom through property and design a life of choice.”

Mark played as hooker for Bath, Leeds Tykes and Bristol Rugby. He was capped 46 times for England scoring three tries, and one cap for the British and Irish Lions.
