With the closing date for nominations looming large, the regionâs biggest sporting club is encouraging people to take part in the 2013 Bath Chronicle Sports Awards.
Bath Rugby is sponsoring the outstanding services to sport category, which celebrates the work of individuals who have provided a lifetime of service to a club or sport or made a big impact in a short time.

Chief executive Nick Blofeld said: âBath Rugby is extremely pleased to be involved as a sponsor of the Bath Chronicle Sports Awards this year, especially as the award we have chosen to support recognises outstanding services to sport.
âBath Rugby is an elite professional rugby club but a rugby club all the same, so we know all about what it takes to keep sports facilities and teams running.

âBehind the scenes at every sports club in Bath, there will be individuals working tirelessly and selflessly to keep things moving, and thereby ensuring that others can concentrate on the fun side of sport â taking part!
âWe are particularly interested in the unseen work done by people purely for the benefit of others, as this attitude really forms the basis for all sports, whatever the level of competition.
âTo be able to publicly acknowledge someone whose service has gone above and beyond what should rightly be expected is a real thrill and we look forward to the ceremony on November 13.â
The title sponsors for this yearâs awards are once again Sirona Care Health, who are also putting their name to the coveted professional sports personality of the year accolade â won last year by Olympic hero Ed McKeever.
The categories are: sports personality of the year, young sports personality of the year (sponsored by Bath Racecourse), senior team of the year, junior team of the year (sponsored by Hartwellâs Citroen in Bath), community club of the year (sponsored by Geometry PR), coach of the year (sponsored by Norton Radstock College), disability sports performer of the year (sponsored by Chew Valley Laser Clinic), outstanding services to sport in Bath (sponsored by Bath Rugby), footballers of the year (16-and-under and over-16) and rugby players of the year (18-and-and over-18).
Nominations can be made online, with a panel of judges deciding which entries should appear on the shortlist on finals night.
But be quick because the deadline for entries is Friday.
