A GOWER junior rugby team has combined a winning season with raising money for charity.
Young players from South Gower Under-16s squad have presented Welsh children’s hospice, Ty Hafan, with a special donation thanks to the generous support of local business in Swansea.
The money presented to the Welsh hospice last week, was partly raised during the Under-16s rugby tour to Dorset.
It capped off a successful season on the field of play both home and abroad in which the side won a tournament in Holland and also reached the semi-finals of a second event in the same country.

The Bishopston-based side also progressed to the semi-finals of this yearâs Ospreys Cup.
A spokesman for the club said: âSouth Gower have been indebted to a number of local Swansea businesses for helping them raise the funds for their trips.
âSteve Quinn of Dr Organic, Daryl Edgecombe of Colour Box and Mark Sansum of Watermark Financial Services had all made generous donations to help fund the Dorset tournament which was also dedicated to the fundraising effort for Ty Hafan.
The sideâs coach, Gerald Williams, added: âWe had such a successful and enjoyable time on our trips to Holland and Bournemouth and we wanted to donate and contribute to a local charity.
âAs a result of the contributions made by the public and local businesses our charitable efforts were rewarded and we are delighted to be able to hand over a substantial contribution.â
