Greig Laidlaw says heâs put the disappointment of missing out on a place with the British and Irish Lions behind him and is ready to focus on Scotland.
The scrum-half wasnât selected by Warren Gatland for the tour of Australia despite an impressive Six Nations campaign.
The Edinburgh number nine saw international team-mates Sean Maitland, Stuart Hogg and Richie Gray picked for the three tests.
However Laidlaw says he has ready to do his best for his country in a four-team tournament in South Africa.
He told Press Association Sport: “Of course I wanted to go [with the Lions]. It was their decision, I’m over it now and focusing on Scotland.
“I was happy with how I played during the Six Nations. They didn’t want to take me and I can live with that.
“I played the best rugby of my career during the championships. We finished third and I was very happy with that. I was happy with my form, now I’m just hoping to push on with this summer tour.”
