Scarlets boss Simon Easterby is hoping new signing Harry Robinson will be able to put his career back on track after leaving the Cardiff Blues.
Robinson is still only 21 and has won three Wales caps having made his first Test start in 2012 before being involved in the two matches against Japan last summer.
The Pentyrch product was one of the most impressive performers on that summer tour but has since seen his chances limited with the Blues.
âSince that tour of Japan I think Harry has been a bit frustrated with some of the opportunities he has had,â said Easterby.
âHe fits the way we play the game. He is a good counter-attacker; he has improved his defensive game due to the hard work he has put in and is an exciting individual who has been catapulted a little bit onto the international scene and not been able to kick on.
âComing down here will give him that opportunity to get back to where he was 12 months or so ago.
âWe believe Harry will thrive in our environment, but will also benefit from playing alongside a world-class and experienced player like Regan King.
âHe is a positive signing for me and I genuine believe he can kick on.â
Robinson is looking forward to joining the West Wales region and linking up with some of Walesâ most exciting talents.
âThe Scarlets play an exciting brand of rugby which Iâm excited to be a part of,â he said.
âThey are known for playing running rugby and thereâs a lot of youth down there with boys like Jordan, Kristian and Liam Williams
âThereâs also a great group of more experienced players staying with the region and Regan King is coming back too. A number of the guys Iâve spoken to have said heâs the best player theyâve ever played with so Iâm looking forward to playing with him.â
Robinson is ironically in line to make his 50th appearance for the Blues on Saturday against the Scarlets at Llanelli.
âIâm looking forward to Saturday â if I feature it will be a nice way to finish with the Blues,â added Robinson.
âI had an injury a couple of months back and I wasnât sure if Iâd feature.
âThereâs such a nice group of boys here, winning my 50th cap on Saturday would round things of nicely.â
