Ireland fly-half Johnny Sexton faces a couple of months on the sidelines after he broke his jaw playing for Racing Metro at the weekend, according to the Irish Examiner.
Sexton was forced off during the first-half in their match against Toulon after he was on the wrong end of a shoulder charge from Craig Burden. He came back on but was later substituted for Johan Goosen in the 49th minute.
Ireland will be keeping a close eye on Sexton’s recovery as they open their autumn internationals against South Africa on November 8.
And Sexton’s Racing Metro could be hit with a â¬50,000 fine as the numbers on the back of their shirts for the game against Toulon were barely visible. According to AFP, Metro could face a fine of anything between â¬5,000 to â¬50,000.
