80 PENALTY, WARATAHS, FOLEY! 33-32. McCaw is pinged for a ruck infringement and Foley lands the place-kick from 45 metres out! The Crusaders restart quickly but the ‘Tahs gather and set up a couple of phases before Brendan McKibbon boots the ball into touch! The Waratahs have won the Super Rugby title for the first time and Foley is the hero after landing that pressure kick at the end!
77 PENALTY, CRUSADERS, SLADE! 30-32. Slade puts the visitors back in front after Latu goes offside on defence deep inside his 22!
75 Nadolo runs onto a pass from Slade and is in the clear down the left-hand touchline inside the ‘Tahs’ 22! He is eventually brought to ground by a text-book tackle from Phipps!
73 The ‘Tahs are on the attack inside the Crusaders’ half with Wycliff Palu and Skelton prominent with ball in hand. They are soon inside the Crusaders’ 22 but Latu is penalised for holding on to the ball on the ground.
70 The Crusaders take the ball through the phases inside their 22. Slade spots a gap behind the Waratahs’ back-line and launches a 35 metre kick, which rolls into touch inside the hosts’ 22.
68 PENALTY, CRUSADERS, SLADE! 30-29. Slade makes no mistake from the kicking-tee, after Tola Latu is pinged for a ruck infringement inside the home side’s 22.
66 Will Skelton is pinged for an infringement on defene. Slade puts the penalty kick into touch on the edge of the Waratahs’ 22.
64 CONVERSION, WARATAHS, FOLEY! 30-26. Foley shows his class as he lands the two-pointer from up against the touchline!
63 TRY, WARATAHS, ASHLEY-COOPER! 28-26. Ashley-Cooper runs onto a pass from Beale and shrugs off a laf-hearted tackle from Dom Bird before crossing over for his second try!
62 The Waratahs are back on the attack inside the Crusaders’ 22. They set up several phases but the visitors’ defence holds firm.
59 Nick Phipps spots a gap at a ruck, close to he Crusaders’ try-line, after Hooper wings plenty of ground with a break up the middle of the field! Phipps is hauled in by Ellis, close to the visitors’ try-line and Whitelock gathers the loose ball when Phipps throws it infield!
57 PENALTY, CRUSADERS, SLADE! 23-26. The visitors take the lead again after another penalty from Slade. This after Kepu is penalised for a high tackle on Tom Taylor.
55 The ‘Tahs take the ball through a couple of phases, inside their 22, until Foley kicks for touch. His effort is charged down by Ellis, however! Luckily for Foley, Beale gathers behind his try-line and dots down.
54 PENALTY, WARATAHS, FOLEY! 23-23. Foley makes up for his earlier miss, with another three-pointer, after McCaw is blown up for illegal entry at a ruck.
52 Foley gets a chance to even the score again, after Nadolo is pinged for a high tackle on Alofa Alofa. His kick is just wide of the uprights, however!
50 PENALTY, CRUSADERS, SLADE! 20-23. The Crusaders take the lead for the first time, when Slade lands another three-pointer! This after Kepu is once again penalised for illegal scrummaging!
47 Sekope Kepu is penalised for dropping his bind at a scrum. Slade kicks for touch but Israel Folau does brilliantly to keep the ball in play! He passes to Beale, who puts the ball out 10 just beyond his 22.
44 CONVERSION, CRUSADERS, SLADE! 20-20. Slade holds his nerve and lands a the difficult spot-kick from close to the touchline!
43 TRY, CRUSADERS, NADOLO! 20-18. The Crusaders launch an attack inside the Waratahs’ half! McCaw does well with a run up the middle before offloading to Andy Ellis, who throws a long pass to Nemani Nadolo, who scores in the left-hand corner despite the attentions of two defenders! Game on!
41 Slade gets the second half underway with a short kick but Ashley-Cooper does well to gather under great pressure from the Crusaders chasers.

40 The Crusaders win the ball at the line-out through Sam Whitelock. He is held up and when the maul becomes static referee Craig Joubert blows his whistle. There’s no time for a scrum as the half-time whistle goes immediately afterwards. The ‘Tahs have held a slight edge and hold a deserved lead. The Crusaders are not out of it yet, though and don’t be surprised if they come with a big effort after the break. Don’t go away! We’ll be back in 10.
40 McCaw is penalised for entering the ruck from the side. Foley puts the ball into touch on the edge of the Crusaders’ 22.
38 PENALTY, WARATAHS, FOLEY. 20-13. Foley restores his side’s seven-point lead, from the kicking tee, after Wyatt Crockett strays offside at a ruck.
36 PENALTY, CRUSADERS, SLADE! 17-13. Slade makes it a four-point game, with a well struck place-kick, after Kane Douglas is penalised for playing Bird in the air at a line-out.
33 Tatafu Polota-Nau is penalised when her holds onto the ball on the ground, inside the Crusaders’ 22. Slade puts the ball out on the halfway mark.
31 The Crusaders are forced into a substitution as Carter leaves with an ankle injury. His place is taken by Tom Taylor.
29 The ‘Tahs are on the attacks inside the ‘Saders’ 22 but it all comes to nothing when Jacques Potgieter knocks on!
27 PENALTY, CRUSADERS, SLADE! 17-10. Slade takes over the goal-kicking duties, after Carter stays down after a tackle, and lands a three-pointer. This after Hooper is penalised for playing the ball on the ground.
24 The Crusaders go on to the attack and Kieron Fonotia and Richie McCaw carry with great intent! Foley is then pinged for not rolling away on the ground, and Carter puts the resulting penalty out midway between the halfway line and the Waratahs’ 22.
22 PENALTY, WARATAHS, FOLEY. 17-7. Foley succeeds with another spot-kick after Carter is pinged for playing the ball on the ground.
19 CONVERSION, CRUSADERS, CARTER! 14-7. Carter lands the two-pointer to reduce the deficit to seven points!
18 TRY, CRUSADERS, TODD! 14-5. The Crusaders launch a counter-attack from inside their 22 and Slade, Kieran Read are prominent ball-carriers before Read offloads to Matt Todd, who crashes over!
15 PENALTY, WARATAHS, FOLEY. 14-0. Foley guides another kick through the uprights after Andy Ellis is penalised for a ruck infringement!
11 PENALTY, WARATAHS, FOLEY. 11-0. Foley slots another three-pointer after Sam Whitelock is pinged for straying offside on defence.
8 The Waratahs take the ball through several phases, close to the halfway mark, until Ashley-Cooper kicks ahead but the ball goes directly into Dom bird! Luckily for the home side, Michael Hooper is first onto the loose ball and the ‘Tahs can rebuild.
5 TRY, WARATAHS, ASHLEY-COOPER! 8-0. Foley is in the clear down the left-hand touchline and is brought to ground, inside the Crusaders’ 22, by a fine tackle from Nemani Nadolo! The ball is recycled until the ‘Tahs take it wide and Kurtley Beale throws a perfectly-weighted pass to Adam Ashley-Cooper, who crashes through two tackles before dotting down! Foley misses with the conversion but the hosts are well and truly in control of this game!
3 PENALTY, WARATAHS, FOLEY! 3-0. Foley gets the first points of the final, from the kicking tee, after Matt Todd goes off his feet at a ruck.
1 And we’re off! Bernard Foley gets us underway with a hanging kick up the middle of the field! The ball is gathered by Ryan Crotty, who sets up a ruck on the edge of his 22.
Waratahs head coach Michael Cheika has also kept faith with the same starting XV that beat the Brumbies in the semi-finals. He announced a 25-man squad earlier in the week but has now left out Peter Betham and Matt Carraro for this showdown.
Crusaders head coach Todd Blackadder has named an unchanged side for the final. The side will be captained by number eight Kieran Read. Richie McCaw starts on the blindside flank again while Jordan Taufua continues as back-up on the bench.
