New Zealand Rugby bans stadium fireworks following pyrotechnics accident in ...

The Ireland

fly-half, Jonny Sexton, is expected to announce that he has rejected a

contract extension with the Paris club Racing Métro, to sign a four-year

deal with the Irish Rugby Football Union that will take him back to Leinster

next season.

Sexton struggled to adapt to life in the French Top  14 on moving there last

season and Joe Schmidt, the Ireland coach, who used to coach Sexton at

Leinster, publicly lamented the fact that he did not have the same influence

on the amount of rugby Sexton was playing.

New Zealand have relaxed their eligibility rulings on playing for the All

Blacks to allow Sonny Bill Williams a passage straight back into the squad

for their November tour of the United States and Europe once the dual-code

international’s rugby league commitments have finished.

The All Blacks play the United States in Chicago on Nov 2, before heading to

Europe for Tests against England, Scotland and Wales.

Williams’s return has been timed to reinforce the All Blacks before they

defend their World Cup title in England next year.
