Bristol Rugby hand debuts to five new players for London Irish clash

Bristol Rugby director of rugby Andy Robinson has given debuts to five new players for Friday’s pre-season fixture against London Irish at the Hazelwood training complex in Sunbury (KO 7:30PM).


Welsh international pair Matthew Morgan and Ian Evans have been named in the starting side, while former Bath prop Anthony Perenise, flanker Jack Lam and hooker Chris Brooker are also included.


Crowd favourite David Lemi will play on the wing after making a return to the club from Worcester, with Ben Skirving and skipper Dwayne Peel surviving from the side that faced Newport Gwent Dragons in the opening pre-season fixture last week.


Taking a 28-man squad, Robinson has named the likes of Ross Johnston and Gaston Cortes on the bench.



Bristol: Jack Wallace; David Lemi, Jack Tovey, Ben Mosses, Andy Short; Matthew Morgan, Dwayne Peel (c); Kyle Traynor, Chris Brooker, Anthony Perenise, Ian Evans, Mark Sorenson, Ben Skirving, Jack Lam, Mitch Eadie.


Replacements: Ross Johnston, Jack O’Connell, Gaston Cortes, Joe Joyce, Glen Townson, Ross Rennie, Olly Robinson, Darren Hudson, Charlie Amesbury, Luke Eves, Adrian Jarvis, Luke Baldwin, Craig Hampson.
