Huddersfield Giants players have taken over a Huddersfield town centre restaurant to raise money for charity.
Eorl Crabtree, Larne Patrick, Luke Robinson, David Faiumu, Scott Grix, Jodie Broughton and Jason Chan all took part in the sell-out event at Nandoâs last week.
Their duties included greeting guests, looking after the grill, taking orders and clearing tables.
Barclays volunteers and Giants cheerleaders also put their customer service skills to good use by selling raffle tickets, showing fans to their seats and helping clear up once diners had finished their meals.
The team effort was in aid of the Huddersfield Giants Community Trust and went down a treat with Claret and Gold supporters, who are hoping it becomes a regular fixture.
Claret and Gold fan Danny Tindall said: âI really enjoyed being there and it was great to have the players waiting on you. Itâs nice for the supporters to get close to their favourite players.â
Raffle prizes include free Nandoâs for a year (worth up to £500), signed 2014 Giants merchandise, a Nandoâs hamper and a family meal at Nandoâs with the winnerâs favourite Huddersfield Giants player.
Supporters were also able to get their photo taken with Giants mascot Big G and Nandoâs Parci, as well as the 2013 League Leaderâs Shield.
Huddersfield Giants Community Trust and Development Manager Glenn Holdsworth said:
âA massive thanks goes to all the Nandoâs staff for training up the players and hosting, as well as to Barclays and all their staff who helped out on the night.
âThe players were excellent and really enjoyed interacting with the fans.
âIt was a truly a perfect evening,â he added.
