Rugby League EXCLUSIVE: Bradford Bulls stars reject pay cuts

But Starsport understands the squad has refused to accept the Super League club’s proposal, which has plunged the struggling outfit into a fresh crisis.

The Bulls are battling huge debts and bosses admitted last week the Yorkshire side needs to save £400,000 to stop them from going under.

Chairman Mark Moore, who took over the stricken outfit earlier this year, wants coach Francis Cummins’ squad to reduce their salaries and help the financial plight.

The millionaire businessman began the consultation process with several administration staff over their jobs this week.

And he is also appealing to volunteers to step forward and assist the club.

Unless the players agree to take a drop in wages, the Bulls could be forced back into administration and even liquidation.

Super League Players’ Association League 13 has raised concerns about the new crisis and is planning talks between its members and club bosses.
