Rugby League - England centre Reed out for six weeks

Scans have revealed the Keighley-born Reed suffered a dislocated collarbone as well as a slight fracture when he slid into an advertising sign during Brisbane Broncos’ 32-0 NRL loss in Melbourne on Friday.

The Broncos have eight matches left of the regular season and Reed, 24, will be hoping to get back for at least two of them in order to prove his fitness ahead of the World Cup.

England coach Steve McNamara is due to announce his squad on October 9, 17 days before the opening World Cup game against Australia.
